Youth League Tennis - Levels
Quickstart - Beginners ages 5-7. Kids learn to play from half court with red tennis balls and get ready to move up to Green level. QS plays 1.5 hours weekly
Green - Beginners ages 8-14. Kids learn to play from the baseline with Orange tennis balls and get ready to move up to Red level. Green plays 1.5 hours weekly.
Red - Novice players work on serve; aiming drop hits; and rallying for 1 hour and play matches with modified serving rules for 1 hour weekly. Red level player needs to be able to hit drop hits consitently in the court from the baseline. Red plays with Orange balls and plays 2 hours weekly and get ready to move up to Yellow Level.
Yellow - Intermediate players work on serve; aiming drop hits & rallying for 1 hour and play matches with modified serving rules for 1 hour weekly. Yellow level player needs to be able to aim their drop hit In the service box consistently and serve overhead with moderate consistency. Yellow players are encouraged to be more consistent and are taught proper court positioning and introduced to strategy. Yellow plays with Orange balls and plays 2 hours weekly and get ready to move up to Blue.
Blue - Advance players work on serve, receiving & rallying, for 1 hour and play matches with regular serving rules for 1 hour weekly. Players are coached on court positioning, becoming more consistent and shot selection. Blue players need to be able to serve overhead consistently. Blue plays with Orange & Yellow balls and plays 2 hours weekly and will be ready to play High School Tennis.
